The townspeople glared at them as they walked through the streets. Maya returned their looks with one that said 'Mess with us and I'll break your bones'.

Yuki only wore a dress and walked barefoot unlike her mother who wore masculine clothes. THe town wouldn't care about Maya's look and would cause conflict regardless

One person swung at Yumi. Maya quickly grabbed his arm and broke it, leaving him on the ground in pain.

"Nothing but a bunch of savages you people are."

Suddenly somebody began to run over yelling "the beasts from the forest are attacking we are doomed" the man called out. The only one strong enough to deal with them was Maya due to her experience with them

there were suddenly scream ahead as the beasts began to attack, Yumi was frightened

After Maya saved the town the townspeople began to look at her as a hero

Maya was happy they didn't treat them as freaks anymore, but still distrusted everyone outside of Miyuki.
