The guards chased after her, but were too slow as they were weighed down by their armor. Sara would have ample time to cast the spell again.

Cyrus grabbed a torch and stood in front of Sara.

Cyrus lowered the torch to the wood hesitantly. He was fighting to keep himself from burning her. If Sara was going to cast the spell, this would be her last chance.

The seal broke and the holy power overtook his dark blood. Cyrus came to his senses and quickly untied Sara from the stake.

Cyrus did his best to make peace with the outsiders. They were welcome to come and go as they pleased and they could become citizens of the kingdom if they wished to. Cyrus was a completely different person now.
